China's gateway to ASEAN culture: Fantawild ASEAN Legend

Nestled near Guangxi's Qingxiu Mountain, Fantawild Asian Legend in Nanning offers a high-tech journey through Southeast Asia's cultural tapestry. Opened in August 2018, this 980-acre park, is China's first theme park dedicated to showcasing the culture of 10 ASEAN nations, blending cutting-edge technology with regional heritage.

The park's 42 attractions include 11 indoor experiences like Soaring Over ASEAN, a VR flight simulator swooping past Thailand's Grand Palace and Indonesia's Borobudur, and Into Angkor Wat, a colossal curved-screen film showcasing Cambodia's temple complex. Outdoor thrills feature Asia's tallest wooden rollercoaster, Jungle Dragon, and the looping Polar Express. Evening spectacles like Island Songs, a live dance-magic show with 1,000 automated LED balls, earned it IAAPA's "Best Creative Multimedia Performance" award in 2023.

Since opening, the park has hosted over 10 million visitors, including Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, and welcomed 2.6 million guests in 2024 alone. It employs 1,000 staff directly while boosting local tourism revenue by ¥2 billion ($280 million) annually. Recognized as Guangxi's "Top Nighttime Cultural Brand" and a national study tour base, it exemplifies China's cultural diplomacy, aligning with the Belt and Road Initiative to strengthen ASEAN ties.
