1st RCEP National Pavilion opens in Yantian, Shenzhen

The RCEP National Pavilion.

The RCEP National Pavilion — China's first brick-and-mortar pavilion of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agricultural Trade Cooperation Center — has opened in Yantian, creating a one-stop marketplace for agricultural products from the 15 RCEP member economies.

Under the RCEP pact, more than 90% of goods traded among member countries are expected to qualify for zero tariffs, creating new opportunities for cross-border agricultural commerce.

The pavilion showcases specialties from all RCEP countries alongside premium provincial and county goods from across China. Visitors can buy items at factory prices, enjoy free tastings and on-site dining, and rely on products that have undergone professional laboratory testing and quality checks.

Organizers say the pavilion offers price competitiveness and safety assurances that make it an attractive alternative to overseas purchasing agents.

The pavilion is served by two Metro lines, benefits from proximity to the Yantian Port's cargo network, and includes a rooftop helipad that provides roughly 15-minute transfers to the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, aiming to combine international connectivity with everyday convenience for both buyers and exporters.

RCEP, which came into effect in 2022, is the world's largest free trade deal, encompassing the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) plus China, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.
