The seventh Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF) opened in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia on October 13 under the theme of "Smart Taxation, Shared Prosperity."

More than 300 delegates participated in the forum, including heads of tax authorities from nearly 40 jurisdictions, as well as representatives from eight international organizations and institutes and multinational enterprises.
The participants will discuss the digitalization of tax administration, more convenient taxpayer services and joint capacity-building at the three-day forum. A separate business tax dialogue will also be held, focusing on service improvements for taxpayers.
The participants noted that since the cooperation mechanism was established, members have reached consensus on a series of issues and made steady progress in improving tax certainty, advancing the digital transformation of tax administration, optimizing the tax business environment and strengthening tax administration capacity.
During this year's forum, the cooperation mechanism will release the Tax Administration Product Portfolio (Version 2.0), the Taxpayer Service Product Portfolio (Version 2.0) and the 2026 Compilation of the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration and Taxpayer Service Product Portfolio. It will also update BRITACEG courses and publish the BRITACOM Annual Report (2026). The new resources will consolidate good practices and case studies from BRI partners.
Initiated by China in April 2019, this cooperation mechanism now has 38 members and 30 observers. It has become an influential multilateral platform for international tax cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
