DJI's launchpad reloaded: 2025 Next Star seeks next tech stars in Shenzhen

2025 Entrepreneurs Next Star & Million Prize Global Challenge (Nanshan Shenzhen)—dubbed the "Oscars of Shenzhen's tech entrepreneurship scene"—has returned and is now open for registration, offering over 40 million yuan in total prizes, a 500-million-yuan direct investment fund, and a 200-million-yuan micro-equity fund, with top winners eligible for awards of up to 3 million yuan per project (including investment).

The 2025 Next Star is a major innovation and entrepreneurship event and a high-profile science and technology showcase, guided by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. Rooted in Nanshan, it serves the entire nation while reaching audiences worldwide.

In 2024, the competition supported the establishment of 14 outstanding enterprises in Nanshan, facilitating 50 million yuan in direct investment.

The domestic competition includes five major industry tracks—AI+X (including embodied intelligence), biomedicine, new materials, advanced equipment, and Future X—as well as a special track for the gaming industry.

The international competition features three major industry tracks: AI+ (including embodied intelligence), biomedicine, and Future X (covering games, VR, and the metaverse). It also includes two specialized tracks: a North America Biomedicine Special Track and a Germany AI+ Hard Tech Special Track, focusing on artificial intelligence, green technology, and smart hardware.
