According to an announcement jointly issued by high people's court of Guangdong Province, People's Procuratorate of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, suspects who have been engaged in internet and telecommunications fraud and other illegal activities in Northern Burma and other countries, should return to China and turn themselves in.

The announcement stated that the suspects should return to China and give themselves up to the police department within 60 days since the announcement has been published on July 14.

Suspects or their relatives can contact judiciary authorities before they return home and give themselves in. In addition, suspects can entrust others to give themselves up to the police through letters, telephone and email before they return to China, or their relatives bring them to surrender.

Suspects who give themselves in can be granted mitigated punishment or exempted from punishment in light with law.

Moreover, any suspects who cooperate in the following ways can also be granted mitigated punishment in accordance with the law:

(1) Report on offences committed by other persons, or provide useful information which assists in solving other criminal case;

(2) Actively assists judicial authorities in arresting other criminal suspects;

(3) Provides a list of persons staying abroad and engaging in illegal and criminal activities, which is verified to be true;

(4) Performs significant meritorious services, and may be given a mitigated punishment or be exempted from punishment.

Related personnel can give themselves in or report clue through calling 110 or 96110. Personal information of whistle-blowers is strictly protected by the judiciary authorities.
