On June 12, Guangdong reported 6 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, all reported by Guangzhou.

The province had 5 more imported confirmed cases on the same day, 4 reported by Guangzhou (3 from Cambodia and 1 from Qatar), and 1 by Foshan from France.

In addition, 2 more previously imported asymptomatic cases were diagnosed as confirmed cases yesterday, reported by Guangzhou from Zambia and Cambodia respectively.

The province also reported 4 new imported asymptomatic cases, 2 reported by Guangzhou from Cambodia and Kuwait, 1 by Zhuhai from Saudi Arabia, as well as 1 by Zhaoqing from Nigeria.

As of June 12, Guangdong had reported a total of 2,618 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,072 imported cases.

Update on COVID-19 cases in Guangzhou

The 6 newly confirmed cases in Guangzhou which were all found from close contacts and key populations have been transferred to the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment after being tested positive for the COVID-19.

Confirmed case No. 1: Male, 78 years old, lives in East 13th Lane, Heyuan, Baihedong Street, Liwan District, (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园东十三巷), a close contact of a confirmed case on June 11.

Confirmed case No. 2: Male, 66 years old, lives in the 6th Lane, Heyuan Zhong Road, Baihedong Street, Liwan District, (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园中路六巷), detected from key population screening.

Confirmed case No. 3: Male, 85 years old, lives in East 13th Lane, Heyuan, Baihedong Street, Liwan District, (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园东十三巷), a close contact of a previously confirmed case.

Confirmed case No. 4: Male, 13 years old, lives in East 13th Lane, Heyuan, Baihedong Street, Liwan District, (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园东十三巷), a close contact of a previously confirmed case.

Confirmed case No. 5: Female, 27 years old, lives in Jixian Road, Yongping Street, Baiyun District, (白云区永平街道集贤路), detected from key population screening.

Confirmed case No. 6: Male, 36 years old, lives in Jixian Road, Yongping Street, Baiyun District, (白云区永平街道集贤路),detected from key population screening.

Up to now, 347 close contacts of the above-mentioned cases have been identified and are under quarantine for medical observation. Relevant venues have been disinfected.

Update on imported COVID-19 cases in Guangzhou on June 12

Imported confirmed case No. 1: Male, 23 years old, departed from Cambodia by flight K6668 on June 3, arrived in Guangzhou on the same day.

Imported confirmed case No. 2: Female, 31 years old, departed from Cambodia by flight K6668 on June 3, arrived in Guangzhou on the same day.

Imported confirmed case No. 3: Male, 34 years old, departed from Cambodia by flight K6668 on June 3, arrived in Guangzhou on the same day.

Imported confirmed case No. 4: Male, 31 years old, departed from Qatar by flight WY664 & WY851 on June 2, arrived in Guangzhou on June 3.

Imported asymptomatic case No. 1: Male, 47 years old, departed from Kuwait by flight KU419 on May 27, arrived in Guangzhou on May 28.

Imported asymptomatic case No. 2: Male, 32 years old, departed from Cambodia by flight LQ985 on May 26, arrived in Guangzhou the same day.

All these cases have all been transferred to Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment after receiving a positive result in nucleic acid test for COVID-19.
