When can I see the supermoon and total lunar eclipse?

At 09:50, the moon will reach its closest point to the earth, which is the largest super moon that people can see throughout the year. At 19:14 the evening of the same day, a total lunar eclipse will occur due to the sun, earth and moon lining up in a straight line. The interval between the two phenomenon will be just over 9 hours.

A total lunar eclipse (red moon) will be seen in eastern China but a partial lunar eclipse will be seen in western China. In Guangzhou, the moonrise time will be 19:02. As the time of the greatest eclipse of the total lunar eclipse will occur at 19:28, the residents of Guangzhou will have the opportunity to see a total lunar eclipse this is when the earth’s shadow will change the appearance of the colour of the moon.
