On the evening of January 30th, the Youth Music Culture Guangdong (YMCG) 2021 special event was held in Guangzhou. YMCG was initiated by the conductor and music director of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Long Yu, with cellist Yo-Yo Ma as the artistic director. It has been held for four sessions.
This year, due to the epidemic, Long Yu and Yo-Yo Ma planned this special event in advance and presented it to the world online. The special project consisted of three parts: "Online Concert", "In the piano room with Yo-Yo Ma" and "International Connection: Master Dialogue-Harmony and Balance".

Young Taiwanese cellist Ouyang Nana performed Tchaikovsky's famous song "Andante cantabile" with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra Youth String Quartet, which was supported by Long Yu and Yo-Yo Ma.
In the evening, young people who were invited to Guangzhou connected with Yo-Yo Ma and exchanged topics of concern with the new generation of young musicians. Yo-Yo Ma believes that he always maintains an open and inclusive attitude, especially for young people. This coincides with Long Yu's view. Long Yu said, "I must admit that I have learned a lot from young people. Their active thinking has brought a whole new world. And YMCG is to provide such a space for people to see the vitality and ideas of young people."
