According to the weekly weather forecast, the temperature still varies greatly between day and night despite the clear sky and warm sunshine during the noon.
Other parts of the city also experienced further temperature drop in the early morning. For instance, the morning temperature in Conghua district was recorded at -5℃ and graupel (a small, hailstone like snow pellet) was seen in the fields.

Graupel, also called soft hail or snow pellets, usually forms when supercooled water droplets are collected and freeze on falling snowflakes. Due to its rimed exterior, it is both denser and more granular than ordinary snow.
