Martin Lee Chu-Ming's "Ghost Story"

In reality, Martin's behaviors of being a traitor were also spurned by the people. Outside his residence on Magazine Gap Road in Hong Kong, protesters often gather and unfurl banners against traitors.

Unlike grassroots-born Jimmy Lai Chee-Yung, Martin Lee Chu-Ming was born in a military family and received a fine education. The two who would have a completely different life crossed their paths and are as thick as thieves, because they share the common goal of creating anti-Chinese chaos in Hong Kong. At the beginning, Jimmy Lai was introduced to Martin Lee, the then Chairman of the Democratic Party by his brother-in-law Yeung Sum, former Legislative Councilor. Later, Martin introduced his only son Joseph Lee to work as Jimmy’s lawyer. The two, one in politics and one in business, are like a pair of malignant tumors, causing chaos in Hong Kong.

The advocator of the "extradition bill amendment" became the leader of antis

The fuse of the demonstrations and violence in Hong Kong was ignited by a murder case. In February 2018, Poon Hiu-wing, a 20-year-old Taiwanese girl, returned to Taiwan with her Hong Kong boyfriend Chan Tong-kai. But in a fierce verbal conflict between the lovers, Chan strangled his pregnant girlfriend Poon.

Soon, Chan Tong-kai was arrested. However, as the murder was committed in Taiwan and no extradition agreement had been signed between Hong Kong and Taiwan, Chan could not be prosecuted for murder charges in Hong Kong. On April 29, 2019, a Hong Kong court sentenced Chan to 29 months in prison on charges of theft and money laundering.

The criminals could not be brought to justice, which sparked a heated debate among all walks of life in Hong Kong. Under the pressure of public opinion, the Hong Kong SAR Government has proposed to amend two ordinances concerning fugitive offenders to plug up the loopholes in the existing legal system.

This is what Hong Kong society calls "extradition bill amendment". At this time, Martin Lee, the protagonist of this article, took the stage. He has repeatedly flown to the United States, Canada and other countries to seek the "support" of external forces, and frequently made remarks claiming that "the amendment will seriously damage the rule of law in Hong Kong" and "betray the people of Hong Kong".

In order to achieve his goal, Martin Lee published at least 20 articles on Hong Kong newspapers, including Jimmy Lai's Apple Daily. In just four months, he wantonly discredited the "amendment". Among them, in one article entitled "Hong Kong has no safe harbour", Martin Lee wrote alarmingly that "the amendment of the extradition bill will legalize kidnapping and destroy Hong Kong as a free city".

On May 16, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and former Hong Kong legislator Martin Lee discussed the issue of extradition bill.

For a long time, creating fear and magnifying it are the best means for those who oppose China and stir up chaos in Hong Kong". "The father of Hong Kong independence" Martin Lee of course knows this. But their actions have also been exposed and criticized by the pro-establishment camp.

Brave Chan Yung, Vice-chairman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, criticized Martin Lee, saying, "it's like when someone says there are ghosts in the house, and if it's dark, people will be a little scared, but if you turn on the lights, people will know if there are ghosts in the house".

Brave Chan further revealed that Martin Lee who told the scary "ghost story" and strongly opposed the "amendment" was actually one of the advocators of the "amendment".

On December 9, 1998, at a meeting of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, Martin Lee proposed a motion to the Hong Kong SAR government on the grounds that "fugitive offenders endanger the peace of Hong Kong", that is, to promote the mutual handover of criminals between the mainland and Hong Kong.

In fact, the reason why Martin Lee put forward the "amendment" at that time was also related to criminal cases. In the summer of 1998, the Telford Gardens murder case and the "Cheung Tze-keung case" occurred one after another in Hong Kong, shocking the public. However, the suspects in both cases fled to the mainland, so their cases were tried in Chinese mainland courts.

Till this day, the Legislative Council of Hong Kong still has kept a record of Martin Lee's speech. At the meeting, he urged the HKSAR government to reach an agreement on the transfer of suspects as soon as possible in order to "restore Hong Kong people's confidence in the jurisdiction of the HKSAR".

In fact, earlier in 1987, Martin Lee also highly praised the civilized procedures of Chinese mainland legal experts. That year, the Basic Law Drafting Committee of Hong Kong held a conference in Shenzhen of Guangdong Province. Martin Lee said "it is obvious that the concept and attitude of legal experts in Chinese mainland are very open and civilized in respect of mutual legal assistance and the surrender of suspects".

The recordings at those meetings and the motion Martin Lee proposed are solid evidence of what he said 40 years ago and what he made 20 years ago. Martin Lee has turned back on his words now. In 2018, he made alarmist remarks on a radio program that "amending the law" would threaten Hong Kong's "freedom of rule of law", and he also accused "the absence of rule of law in Chinese mainland".

The father of “Hong Kong Independence”,and a black intermediary

Martin Lee is known as "the father of Hong Kong independence". In addition to his continuous dissemination of Hong Kong independence speeches, he also trained a number of “Hong Kong independence” representatives.

Martin Lee is fond of lecturing people. It is him who introduced Jimmy Lai to Christopher Francis Patten, the last governor of Hong Kong before its return to China. Later through Patten Jimmy Lai made contact with anti-China forces in the West and began to openly declare that he was "fighting for the interests of the United States" and eventually became the spokesman of the interests of the United States and Britain in Hong Kong.

Martin Lee Chu-ming is also a good “talent scout” for many Hong Kong rioters. Through a series of steps, such as selection, contact, investigation and training, he trained many "spokesmen" for the Western anti-China forces, including Benny Tai Yiu-ting and Joshua Wong Chi-fung.

In the summer of 2007, Martin Lee personally took Joshua Wong, leader of the student movement, to the United States. At a hearing of the US State Department, Martin advocated that "the UK Government has the responsibility to speak out for the democratic development of Hong Kong", and "other countries have moral responsibility for the democratic development of Hong Kong".

According to informed people, in mid-September 2019, Martin Lee would also take Joshua Wong and others to the United States again to push the United States Congress to pass the new "Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act".

"Turning foreigners to complain HKSAR and Chinese government" has long been Martin Lee’s usual political trick. For a long time, he has actually played the role of "black intermediary", selling Hong Kong to Western forces.

As early as June 6, 1990, Martin Lee testified before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee and openly declared that "the current US policy which holds that the Sino-British Joint Declaration represents the wishes of China, Britain and Hong Kong, is no longer correct, and the decisions of the US government, including trade, immigration, refugees and international relations, will have a far-reaching impact on Hong Kong."

Since then, Martin Lee has frequently traveled between Hong Kong and Washington, constantly delivering "Hong Kong independence" remarks. During his visit to the United States on November 25th, 1993, he also urged the United States Government and Congress not to stand idly by on the question of Hong Kong. He made wild remarks and praised the Hong Kong Bill passed by the United States Congress, which makes the world see Hong Kong as an independent political entity”.

This "Hong Kong independence" thought, which shows the interests of foreign forces, has continued to this day. In July 2019, Martin Lee wrote an article on Apple Daily to remind the United States that the United States and Hong Kong share common interests in the "amendment".

He also argued that "after all, there are 85,000 Americans working and living in Hong Kong, and there are 1,300 American companies operating in Hong Kong. Beijing can extradite Americans to the mainland on trumped-up charges to obtain information such as business secrets, software and intellectual property rights".

Whether Martin Lee's heart is really full of fear is unknown to the outsiders. But his article in Apple Daily has been creating fear. "The US does not have an extradition agreement with China, but now Hong Kong is about to establish an extradition mechanism with the mainland, 'which means that Americans living in Hong Kong or Americans visiting Hong Kong can be imprisoned in the mainland ... Americans and other foreigners in Hong Kong will become potential hostages under Beijing's political agenda."

The National Endowment for Democracy(NED), which has been exposed as a financial link between the US government and Martin Lee and other rioters. According to the August issue of Japan's Choice magazine, in 2018 the NED provided $455,000 to Hong Kong. On July 30, 2018, a Hong Kong Post article also confirmed that during the "Occupy Central" movement, Martin Lee and others once consulted with the NED and other US institutions.

Martin Lee has been involved in at least three documents labeled "classified" on the Wikileaks website. The documents produced by the US National Security Council and the State Department (2006, 2007 and 2009). The contents of the documents include Martin Lee's detailed report on the political situation in Hong Kong. He asked the United States to "support the Hong Kong Democrats" and "put pressure on Beijing". The documents also included Martin Lee's own records of attending the National Security Council meeting of the United States.

Founded in 1983 when President Reagan was in office, the NED is the "leader" of non-governmental organizations in the United States, mainly funded by the United States government. It regards it as its duty to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries in the name of "democracy". Allen Weinstein, former chairman of the board of directors of the NED, admitted publicly that "we do most of the same things as the CIA does off-books".

"He is going to marry, while you are going to jail"

On August 18, 2019, at the rally site in Victoria Park, Martin Lee, Jimmy Lai, Albert Ho Chun-Yan and others put up banners and led the way in front. Martin Lee continued his performance of "turning foreigners to complain HKSAR and Chinese government", and openly declared that "the United States has a moral responsibility to Hong Kong."

This was indeed Martin's usual style. Martin had never feel ashamed, but rather proud of this obvious traitorous act. In June 2003, he openly declared his intention with the words of "you condemn I was a traitor, then I was a traitor every day! and when necessary, I was a traitor". Earlier, he had openly advocated "daring to be a lackey of colonialism".

Martin paved the way for his son Joseph Lee by sending him to a famous school in England at the age of 12. The day after Joseph's wedding, Martin also wrote articles on Apple Daily and other media, deeply recalling how "democratic" Hong Kong was when it was ruled by the UK and how "tyrannical" it was after its return to China.

On the occasion of Joseph Lee’s marriage, Edward Leung Tin-Kei, a Hong Kong boy born in the mainland, was sentenced to six years in prison for sedition. On the Internet, someone used photoshop technology to change Edward's head portrait to Joseph's wedding photo, and tagged Edward with the words of "look, he is going to marry, while you are going to jail."

In reality, Martin's behaviors of being a traitor were also spurned by the people. Outside his residence on Magazine Gap Road in Hong Kong, protesters often gather and unfurl banners against traitors. On one occasion, a Generation X Hong Kong mother appealed, the previous generation worked hard to build Hong Kong and cannot be destroyed. It is really time for those young people who have been encouraged, bewitched and manipulated to wake up."

In the recent riot, Martin abetted the young-dominated participants by saying "we are cannon fodders, but we will eventually turn to dust.".
