The Su Bingtian Center for Speed Research and Training is a multidisciplinary sports training and technological innovation research center. It is jointly established by the University, the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Chinese Athletic Association.
The center is composed of three parts: a competitive performance analysis and training center, a speed ability and function evaluation laboratory and a modern intelligent sprint training base.
The center focuses on exploring cutting-edge technology of track and field training, and researching the technical services related to the training of the Chinese national team for the Olympics and the Asian Games. It also plans to explore technology development and application covering the full cycle of sports training in the future. At the same time, this research center will also cultivate sprint talent in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and help improve the training level of the Chinese track and field teams.
Su Bingtian said at the opening ceremony that he hopes to get more help and support in the future. He will work hard to build this research center into a leading and world-class comprehensive sprint training base in Asia, helping China and Guangdong Province in competitive sports, social sports and school sports.
At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Su Bingtian broke the Asian 100-meter race record with a time of 9.83 seconds, becoming the first Asian racer to participate in the Olympic 100-meter final for over 50 years in the era of electronic timekeeping. With his outstanding sports performance, Su proved that the race can also be among the best in the world in sprinting with scientific training concepts and systematic training systems.
Su Bingtian hopes to maintain his high-level competitive state for as long as possible. He also has a strong desire to continue disseminating the sprint skills he has learned among teenagers and universities after he retires. "It is definitely not only Su Bingtian who has a talent for 100m running in China,"He said.
