According to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center of Macao, commencing 6pm on June 6, all personnel who have been to places listed below in the 14 days prior to entering Macao are required to undergo 14-day medical observation at designated quarantine sites in accordance with the requirements of the health authorities. Violators might be subject to compulsory isolation measures in addition to corresponding criminal liability in accordance with the law.

Also on June 6, the government of the HKSAR adjusted the list of risk areas temporarily not applicable to the “Return2hk scheme” - Travel Scheme for Hong Kong Residents Returning from the Mainland or Macao without being subject to quarantine. The government said in addition to being listed as medium or high-risk areas by the National Health Commission, they would also refer to the COVID-19 individual cases reported by the health departments of the mainland and Macao. The areas listed in the relevant area will be based on the community as the smallest unit. According to the “Return2hk scheme”, Hong Kong residents who have stayed in the risk areas listed on the day of arrival or 14 days before will not be exempted from compulsory quarantine on entering Hong Kong and must undergo a 14-day home quarantine.
