On June 8, Guangdong had 7 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, all reported by Guangzhou. In addition, there was 1 more previously asymptomatic case diagnosed as a confirmed case in Guangzhou on the same day, following the results of chest CT scans and expert consultation during his treatment at the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital.

1 imported confirmed case that was previously asymptomatic has been reported in Zhaoqing from Cameroon. The province also reported 6 imported asymptomatic cases, including 3 in Guangzhou from Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates, 1 in Shenzhen from Nigeria, and 2 in Foshan from the US.

As of Tuesday, Guangdong had reported a total of 2,573 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,056 imported ones, according to the commission. Importantly, All the cases reported were detected from key population screening, and have been transferred to the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment.

Confirmed Case No.1: Female, 4 years old, lives in Lane 6, Jia'an Garden, Zhujiang Street, Nansha District (南沙区珠江街道嘉安花园), a close contact of an asymptomatic case on June 5.

Confirmed Case No.2: Male, 35 years old, lives in Fazhan Road, Zhujiang Street, Nansha District (南沙区珠江街道发展路), a close contact of one confirmed and one asymptomatic case on June 5.

Confirmed Case No.3: Female, 70 years old, lives in Tianhou West Street, Xinjue Village, Dongsha Street, Liwan District (荔湾区东沙街道新爵村天后西街), a close contact of two asymptomatic cases on May 29.

Confirmed Case No.4: Female, 73 years old, lives in East Lane 13, Heyuan Xiaoqu, Baihedong Street, Liwan District (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园小区东十三巷), a close contact of a confirmed case that was previously an asymptomatic case on May 30.

Confirmed Case No.5: Female, 43 years old, lives in East Lane 13, Heyuan Xiaoqu, Baihedong Street, Liwan District (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园小区东十三巷), a close contact of today's confirmed case No.4.

Confirmed Case No.6: Male, 48 years old, lives in East Lane 13, Heyuan Xiaoqu, Baihedong Street, Liwan District (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园小区东十三巷), a close contact of today's confirmed case No.4.

Confirmed Case No.7: Male, 5 years old, lives in East Lane 13, Heyuan Xiaoqu, Baihedong Street, Liwan District (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园小区东十三巷), a close contact of today's confirmed case No.4.

So far, 118 close contacts of these cases have been isolated for medical observation, and all related areas have been disinfected.

Detailed information on new imported asymptomatic cases in GZ on June 8

Imported asymptomatic case No.1: Female, 27 years old, departed from Cambodia on May 31, by flight CZ8314, and arrived in Guangzhou on the same day.

Imported asymptomatic case No.2: Male, 25 years old, departed from Cambodia on May 31, by flight CZ8314, and arrived in Guangzhou on the same day.

Imported asymptomatic case No.3: Male, 52 years old, departed from the United Arab Emirates on May 29, by flight EK362, and arrived in Guangzhou on the same day.

All these cases have all been transferred to the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment after receiving a positive result in nucleic acid test for COVID-19.

Xiarong Village, Qinba Town, Wuchuan adjusted to medium-risk area

Xiarong Village in Qinba town, Wuchuan, Zhanjiang (湛江吴川市覃巴镇下榕村) was elevated as a medium-risk area on June 8, according to the Wuchuan COVID-19 Prevention and Control Headquarters, while the risk level of other areas remains the same. Xiarong Village has implemented closed management to ensure that all residents stay at home. Daily necessities are distributed by the local town or street authorities.

As of 9am, June 9, there are two regions with high-risk and 13 regions with moderate risk in China (all of which are in Guangdong), including 2 high risk areas in Guangzhou, as well as 9 medium risk areas in Guangzhou, 3 in Foshan and 1 in Zhanjiang.
