Start-up Alliance for Young People from Hong Kong, Macao and the Taiwan Region Launched in Guangzhou

On September 24, 2021 Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exchange Conference and the Startup Alliance was launched in Guangzhou.

On September 24, 2021 Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exchange Conference and the Startup Alliance was launched in Guangzhou. The alliance aims to facilitate the sharing of information, experience, and resource for win-win development of youth innovation and entrepreneurship bases, and to create an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship incubation.

In recent years, Guangzhou has implemented 15 policies and 47 tasks, to help youths from Hong Kong, Macao and the Taiwan Region chase their dreams in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. A total of 45 innovation and entrepreneurship bases have been built, of which 5 are recognized as Guangdong-Hong Kong and Guangdong-Macao youth innovation and entrepreneurship bases, 1 is awarded the Guangdong May 4th Youth medal, and 10 are named the demonstration bases. Nearly 400 entrepreneurial projects, more than 600 teams and over 3,000 young people from Hong Kong and Macao are attracted to settle in the city.

Renowned business representatives from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were appointed as advisors. Chen Jingzhan, Chairman of Guangzhou Zhuanchuang Information Technology Co., Ltd., was appointed as the director-general of the alliance.

The alliance will uphold the concept of "openness, aggregation, empowerment and sharing", aggregate new forces in youth innovation in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, to create an atmosphere of exchange and integration of youth innovation, and accelerate the integration of youth into the growth of the Greater Bay Area.

A total of 120 people attended the ceremony, among whom are representatives from related Guangzhou governmental departments, Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base in Guangzhou, and youth representatives of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Zhan Decun, director of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, said in the speech: “If you want to go fast, walk alone; and if you want to go far, walk together. I hope that the alliance can work as a bridge to achieve win-win development among members."
