China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City wins "Business China Enterprise Award"

The 10th edition of the Business China Awards was held at the Ritz-Carlton Singapore on Nov. 8th, the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City was awarded the "Business China Enterprise Award".

The 10th edition of the Business China Awards was held at the Ritz-Carlton Singapore on November 8th, the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) was awarded the "Business China Enterprise Award".

The award recognizes CSGKC’s contribution to China-Singapore cooperation and knowledge economy. It also affirms its achievement on facilitating China-Singapore development, innovation ability and social responsibility.

Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, presented the Knowledge City award at the main venue in Singapore. CSGKC is the second China-Singapore national cooperative project that has won this award after the China–Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park.

The Business China Awards aim to honour outstanding individuals and enterprises for their contributions to Singapore-China relations as well as promoting bilingualism and biculturalism in Singapore.

The CSGKC is a state-level bilateral collaboration project between China and Singapore, located in Southern China’s Guangzhou and its northern part of Huangpu District, with a total planned area of 232 square kilometres.

Over the past decade of development and construction, CSGKC has seen the completion of the Southern Start-Up Area (SUA), while the construction of the integrated business parks is processing steadily in phases. Since its establishment in 2010, the total number of registered market entities has reached 23,500, with a registered capital of 440 billion yuan, and 42 key bilateral cooperation projects have been signed. Fixed-asset investment of the CSGKC surpassed the 58.3 billion yuan mark in 2020 and exceeded 261.4 billion yuan in aggregate terms.

In addition, a wide range of cooperative projects have settled in the CSGKC. The China-Singapore International Joint Research Institute has completed construction. The National University of Singapore landed its largest flagship project in China, the Research Translation and Innovation Institute. The SingChin Academy, the first overseas member of Singapore Hwa Chong Family of Schools opened in September.

The construction of The Sino-Singapore International Technology Innovation Cooperation Demonstration Area commenced and introduced 12 cooperative projects including an energy-saving project with SP Group.
