The 2nd Vocational Skills Competition of Guangdong will kick off in Guangzhou from December 3 to 5 and close on December 6. This is the most influential vocational skills competition of the highest specification in Guangdong, and the Guangzhou division will undertake 60 events of the competition.

The venue is located at the Pazhou International Exhibition Center, and the competition and exhibition will be held simultaneously. The closing ceremony will be held in Haixinsha, which will showcase the talents of skilled workers.

54 World Skills Competition events, 2 selected events of Vocational Skills Competition in China, and 4 strategic emerging industrial cluster development projects will be included in the competition, covering CNC vehicle, mobile robot, jewel crafting, cooking and so on.

The competition will be conducted both online and offline. The communication and display area will be specially set up to provide visitors with a good interactive experience. Meanwhile, people can also enjoy the competition through live streaming.

During the competition, a forum will be organized for the first time to help build a good platform for in-depth discussions about the development and change of the World Skills Competition and talent cultivation.

The logo and mascot of the competition were also unveiled on November 3. The name of the mascot is "叻叻 (meaning highly skilled in Cantonese)", with the logo meaning skilled craftsmen and expressing high praise for skilled talents. It is composed of the South China tiger, kapok flower (the city flower of Guangzhou), waves of the Pearl River and other elements.

What's more, the logo is in the shape of the Chinese character "技 (meaning skill)" made up of tangram, which is an ancient Chinese traditional toy that originated in south China. The logo and mascot represent the emphasis on labor and skills.
