The Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port project (or ‘Pazhou Passenger Terminal’) officially got underway on the morning of May 26th. Located in city center, it is another crucial transportation hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
At the groundbreaking ceremony.
The first phase of the terminal will open a service route between Pazhou and Hong Kong International Airport, taking about 2 hours. Passengers can complete joint exit and entry inspections in Pazhou, and quickly arrive in Hong Kong to take international flights. A one-way trip will cost 200-300 yuan.
The Terminal is expected to open the Pazhou-Hong Kong International Airport round trip route in 2021, with 2 high-speed passenger ships in full swing. In two periods through 2024 and 2031, the transportation capacity will gradually increase.
In the early stage, there will be 4 round trips each day, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon respectively. In the medium-term, the terminal will provide 6 round trips each day. Based on passenger flow, routes that link the urban area of Hong Kong and Macao will also be planned in the future.
358 million yuan will be invested into the first phase of the project, and the main construction includes both the terminal berth and temporary joint inspection building. The site is located on the north side of Yuejiang Zhong Road, and adjacent to the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center and Pazhou Bridge.

To bring more choices and convenience to passengers at home and abroad, the second phase of this project will be planned in the Pazhou Convention and Exhibition Tower podium, providing routes that directly links the urban areas of Hong Kong and Macao, as well as Macao International Airport.

However, it only takes about 2 hours from Pazhou Passenger Terminal to Hong Kong International Airport. After going through the exit procedures and having luggage checked in Pazhou, passengers can directly arrive at the airport and take their flight. Moreover, the high punctuality rate, river and sea scenery along the way will provide passengers with a comfortable and convenient trip.
With construction of the Pazhou Passenger Terminal project fully underway, strict epidemic prevention and control measures are being taken. By the end of this year, the main body of the passenger terminal and temporary joint inspection building will have been completed, with the terminal ready to service passengers.
