On October 21, the 13th National Dance Exhibition kicked off at the Guangzhou Opera House with the opening performance of a dance drama entitled "Awakening Lion". The exhibition will showcase 83 dance programs from all over the country, presenting a wonderful dance event for the audience.

The exhibition highlights works on revolutionary and realistic themes this year, offering many outstanding dance performances that eulogize the Communist Party of China, the motherland, the people and the heroes.

Also, many works deeply explore the artistic and aesthetic features of Chinese traditional culture, while historical relics and Chinese paintings are creatively combined with dance. For example, produced by the China Oriental Performing Arts Group and the Palace Museum, the dance drama “The Painting Journey—The Legend of a Panorama of Mountains and Rivers” combines Chinese poems with dance movements.

In addition, audiences can watch the exhibition through both offline and online performances. The exhibition will be held in a dozen theaters in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Jiangmen, while dance performances will also be livestreamed or screened via some social media platforms such as Kuaishou account called “文艺中国 (pinyin: wen yi zhong guo)", WeChat official account named “中国艺术头条 (pinyin: zhong guo yi shu tou tiao)", and "星海直播 (pinyin: xing hai zhi bo)".

At the same time, the tickets of the exhibition are set at a low price, with tickets under 280 yuan ($44) accounting for more than 50 percent of the total, enabling more people to attend live performances.
