China successfully took every possible step in supporting foreign companies to resume operations and production. A recent study found that 90% of the companies researched, hold a positive outlook for the second half of 2020, with a strong will to continue to grow and expand amid the current difficulties, according a special report released by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China).

In order to determine the state of business in South China in the first half of 2020 and to assess the impact of many challenges facing business going forward, the AmCham South China conducted a study involving 172 companies and issued the findings in a report on September 22th.

Those companies are from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, UK, Serbia, France, Nepal, Japan and the United States. The majority are U.S.-invested enterprises (50%), followed by of China-invested enterprises (33%) and enterprises originating from other countries and regions (17%).

Nearly 34% of the companies come from consumer products and services. Slightly over 33% of the companies come from professional services. 22% are from first- and second-tertiary industry, and 11% from other services and organizations.

When asked about their expectation of revenue in the second half of 2020, nearly 48% of companies reported they expect their year-on-year revenue to increase. Meanwhile, almost 18% of participating companies expect no change in revenue.

For the investment trend in the second half of 2020, the majority of these companies (45%) expected their reinvestment plan to stay the same. 26% of the participating companies expected an increase in future reinvestment, and 29% of the companies expected decreases in future reinvestment.

Working together towards that goal will guarantee peace and prosperity and a better future for everyone in the world," said Dr. Harley Seyedin, the president of AmCham South China.
