The Consular Corps toured to Zhanjiang, a coastal transport hub of Guangdong, and visited its major industrial, agricultural and marine projects from July 28 to 30.

Diyar Khan, Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, said this is his third visit to Zhanjiang during an interview with GDToday.

"I visited the city for the first time in 2001 because a Pakistan national had a plastic factory. Zhanjiang is located at a strategic location in Guangdong because it's a port city and close to the ASEAN countries. It has developed a lot compared with 20 years ago."

Having visited major projects such as the BASF and SINOPEC plants, Diyar Khan believes Pakistan and Zhanjiang face enormous opportunities for two-way investment, especially in the agricultural, marine and steel industries as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has been focusing on partnerships in these fields heavily.
