The 13th Pan Pearl River Delta (PPRD) Regional Cooperation & Development Forum and Economic & Trade Fair opened in Guangzhou on September 24th. At present, regarding epidemic control and economic development, it is imperative to deepen the PPRD health cooperation.
This year's forum focused on promoting high-quality development of the health industry in the PPRD, and to line-up the development of the Greater Bay Area and Hainan Free Trade Zones.
According to Dr. Zhong, the forum's theme "Leading intelligent health promotes social well-being" is crucial for conducting regular epidemic control and the establish of China's public health system.
The report was finished by Zhong and his research team through field research, interviews as well as literature and data analysis. It includes six chapters about health industry, smart medical care, park services, health tourism, healthy life, and open cooperation, which summarized the achievements of health development in the PPRD, and to improve cooperation with learning and exchange.
According to the report, pharmaceutical innovation in the PPRD still has huge potential, the report suggests to gain more national policy support, and to promote close cooperation with high-quality medical and health resources.
For instance, Hong Kong and Macao medical and health service providers in the nine provinces of PPRD should be encouraged to set up more medical institutions.
During the forum, six guests including Liu Peilin, vice-director-general, research fellow of the Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy of the Development Research Center of the State Council as well as Li Chuyuan, chairman of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited, delivered speeches on pharmaceutical technology, public health, remote medical treatment and other subjects of interest.
