On June 21, 2021, Chinese fashion designer Ji Wenbo was awarded the prestigious "Le Grandi Guglie della Grande Milano", Italy's top fashion designer prize. At present, Ji is the only fashion designer who has won the top prizes in both China and Italy as he earned the Chinese "Golden Award" in 2004.

An awarding ceremony was held at the JIWENBO PRIVE of the Guangzhou International Finance Center, attended by representatives from both China and Italy, offline and online respectively, including Ms. Lucia Pasqualini, Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou and Mario Boselli, president of the Italy-China Foundation.

"Le Grandi Guglie della Grande Milano" is awarded to outstanding artists worldwide who have made important contributions to Italy's Milan in terms of society, arts and culture. According to Milan Research Center, Italy, the awarding organization, Ji Wenbo has always been committed to China's fashion exchange with the outside world, making great contributions to the industry, profession, education and business of Milan, hence he won this prestigious award.

Ji Wenbo has been invited to Milan Fashion Week three times. In 2007, he became the first Chinese designer to attend this event, where fourteen of his works were listed into the World's Men's Fashion Trend and one of his works was selected as one of the 100 luxury fashion items in the world. In 2013, Ji Wenbo participated in Milan Fashion Week again and was awarded the certificate of "the first Chinese designer to be listed into the schedule of Milan Men's Fashion Week". In 2015, he attended the fashion week for the third time, sharing his JIWENBO Spring/Summer 2016 Ready-to-Wear Presentation to the closing show.

Ji Wenbo has been engaged in costume design since 1981. He pointed out in an interview that international fashion platforms are of great importance for the development of Chinese fashion brands. Meanwhile, international fashion platforms also pay attention to Chinese designs.

As the vice chairman of China Fashion Association and the chairman of Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, Ji devotes himself to nurturing Chinese designers and motivating them to go global in order to integrate traditional Chinese culture into international fashion aesthetics.

"China should establish fashion industry IPs, motivate new drivers in this field and promote consumption upgrade, which will be helpful to create China's own national brands."
