Guangzhou’s Nansha establishes friendly relationship with Soviet District of Minsk

The signing ceremony of the establishment of international friendly cooperation and exchange region between Nansha District, Guangzhou and Soviet District of the city of Minsk in Belarus was held online on October 22.

The signing ceremony of the establishment of international friendly cooperation and exchange region between Nansha District, Guangzhou and Soviet District of the city of Minsk in Belarus was held online on October 22.

Lu Yixian, Secretary of Nansha District Party committee, S. A. Hilman, the head of Soviet Region of Minsk State and Andrei Popov, the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Guangzhou attended this online ceremony.

Lu said that Nansha saw blooming industry in the artificial intelligence, health, new energy vehicles, marine technology, and aerospace fields, while Soviet was advanced in scientific research, education, art, laser physics, new material technology and bioengineering. “Those two districts are highly complementary in industries,” Lu said in the hope of making critical contributions for economic development of two countries by the friendly relationship between Nansha and Soviet.

S. A. Hilman expected to strengthen cooperation in economy and trade, technology as well as culture and tourism for a closer communication of government and people between these two districts.

With well-developed machinery manufacturing and metalworking industry as well as strong cultural and artistic atmosphere, Minsk is the political, economic and cultural center of Belarus. Located in the north central part of Minsk, Soviet Region boasts many institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and many colleges and universities.
