A new Italian Book Section was inaugurated at the Guangzhou Library on the morning of April 19th, with nearly 400 volumes donated by the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou.
The new Italian Section marks another important milestone in the path of cooperation activities between Guangzhou Library and Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou over the years.

It will allow both Chinese and foreign readers to better understand Italy. Among those donated, there are books in the original language and Chinese translations of famous Italian works, classics, books on art, culture and gastronomy, contemporary poems and novels, as well as children's books and comics.
The inauguration was attended by distinguished guests from both China and Italy, including Italian Ambassador to China Luca Ferrari, Deputy Director General of Guangzhou's Foreign Affairs Office Mr. Lei Weiju, Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou Ms. Lucia Pasqualini, and Director of Guangzhou Library Mr. Fang Jiazhong.
Guangzhou Library is an important landmark in the cultural landscape of the city, located right in the heart of the tourist-cultural area Huacheng Square, Zhujiang New Town.
