Dmytro Kamkov, Acting Consul General of Ukraine in Guangzhou, addressed at the reception, with greetings to all guests and congratulations on 30 years’ Ukrainian Independence as well as the 10th Anniversary on a Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and China.

He reviewed major achievements of Ukraine on constitution, finance, technology, health care reform, education etc. in the last three decades. “Mutual prosperity is underpinned by understanding and cooperation between two sides. We will work together with China to achieve more fruitful accomplishments in economy and trade, technology, education, infrastructure, culture, tourism and other sectors,” Dmytro Kamkov said.

According to Dmytro Kamkov, Ukraine and China have seen closer cooperation in economic and trade sector. In 1992, the trade volume between two sides was only about 300 million USD. In 2020, trade between countries reached 15.4 billion USD. And as of now the trade turnover of 2021 has already exceeded last year’s turnover.

“In terms of cooperation with Guangdong, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Guangzhou will put more emphasis on education, technology, trade and cultural exchanges. For example, an academician workstation has been established by the headquarters of the Ukrainian China Association of Industry and Commerce, and it is expected that laboratories will be built simultaneously in Guangzhou and Kyiv by the end of this year. More sister cities and student exchange programs in universities will be pushed forward as well,” Dmytro Kamkov introduced.
