The policy that international students can obtain post-study work visa in the UK after graduation, which was announced last year, has relaxed its requirements. Jo Hawley, British Consul-General in Guangzhou announced at the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Guangzhou on September 11th.

International students can start online learning and apply for visas when travel conditions permit. As long as they enter the UK before April 6th, 2021 and complete the last semester study in the UK, they can also apply for a 2-year post-study work visa.
In the upcoming autumn semester, the Consul-General also reminded international students to fill in the Passenger Locator Form online 48 hours before their flights with their previous travel details, including times and dates, the addresses where they will stay in the UK, as well as their passport information.

What’s more, those who have got a 30-day visa to work, study or reunite with their family in the UK after January 24th can send their passport back to the visa application centres to extend their visa time to 90 days if it has expired or is about to expire before their departure for the UK. This service is free of charge.
Since June 1st, the 15 UK VACs in China have gradually resumed services, including those in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Changsha, Fuzhou, Kunming, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Jinan, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Wuhan and Xi'an. Students can submit their visa applications in all 15 centres.
According to the statistics of UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI), by the end of March 2020, more than 118,000 Chinese citizens received student visas to study in the UK in the last year, up by 18% year on year.
