He praised the Wenchong Community where he lives in Huangpu District, saying the community gives him the sense of safety and makes him feel at home. The community sent him masks, sanitizer and piles of medical supplies and necessities during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sunday said the community gave him four free nucleic acid tests during quarantine, but it didn’t bother him because he understands it is a move to ensure people are healthy. “Chinese and African people should live as friends and brothers. There are many Chinese people in Africa while there are many Africans in China so there should be love.”

Sunday ended his quarantine on April 23rd, and the first thing he did is to buy some food at the supermarket. “The community social workers bought food for me and delivered to my doorstep. Now I can do it myself.” He wrote a letter to thank the Wenchong community for taking care of him, and expressed his love to Guangzhou.

According to the Huangpu District, many expats have completed their quarantine and been back to their normal life. As of April 26th, 819 of the 824 expats have completed their quarantine in the designated hotels while all of the expats under self-quarantine are allowed to leave their home.
