On May 30, Guangdong reported 20 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, among which 16 were previously asymptomatic cases, according to its provincial health commission. 18 of the confirmed cases were reported in Guangzhou (including 14 previously asymptomatic cases) and the other 2 in Foshan (both were previously asymptomatic cases). Three new locally asymptomatic cases were also reported, including 2 in Shenzhen and 1 in Foshan.

Guangdong reported 3 new imported confirmed cases in Guangzhou from Cambodia, Indonesia and Tanzania respectively. The province also reported 3 imported asymptomatic cases, including 2 in Guangzhou (from Central Africa and the United Arab Emirates respectively) and 1 in Foshan (from France).

As of May 30, Guangdong has reported a total of 2,455 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,033 imported since last year, according to the commission.

Detailed information on the three imported confirmed cases:

Case No. 1: Male, 35 years old, arrived in Guangzhou on May 22 by flight LQ908 from Cambodia;

Case No. 2: Male, 41 years old, departed from Indonesia on May 18, took flights ID6725 and CZ388, and arrived in Guangzhou on May 22;

Case No. 3: Male, 56 years old, departed from Tanzania on May 25, took flights WY706 and WY851, and arrived in Guangzhou on May 28;

The above three cases were transferred to the designated quarantine venue after nucleic acid test sampling at the airport according to the city's closed-loop management. They had been transferred to the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital after their COVID-19 tests turned out to be positive, and were diagnosed as confirmed cases following further examination and consultation.

Detailed information on the two imported asymptomatic cases:

Case No. 1: Female, 23 years old, arrived in Guangzhou on May 22 by flight EK362 from the United Arab Emirates;

Case No. 2: Male, 39 years old, departed from Central Africa to Egypt on March 12, left Egypt on May 13 and arrived in Guangzhou on May 14 by flight MS958;

These two cases were quarantined and managed in closed-loops once they arrived, and have been transferred to the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment after their nucleic acid test results were found to be positive for COVID-19.
