First of all, some good news. Two confirmed cases of COVID-19 were discharged and two asymptomatic cases came out of quarantine on June 10, according to Chen Bin, deputy director of Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission.

"So happy, I am finally discharged from the hospital!" said Granny Guo, the first case in this round of COVID-19 resurgence in Guangzhou.

These four patients had two consecutive negative tests within 24 hours, and they felt that they had no discomfort. They will continue to be quarantined and observed for a period of time before returning home.

On June 9, Guangdong had 4 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, all reported by Guangzhou. All these cases were detected from key population screening, and have been transferred to the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment.

In addition, there were 2 more previously asymptomatic cases diagnosed as confirmed cases in Guangzhou on the same day, following the results of chest CT scans and expert consultation during their treatment at the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital.

3 imported confirmed cases were reported in Guangzhou, with 2 from Malaysia and 1 from Bangladesh. The province also reported 12 imported asymptomatic cases, including 10 in Guangzhou from Cambodia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and the US; 1 in Shenzhen from Indonesia, and 1 in Foshan from Iraq.

As of Wednesday, Guangdong had reported a total of 2,582 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,059 imported ones.

Confirmed Case No.1: Female, 58 years old, lives in Jia'an Garden, Zhujiang Street, Nansha District (南沙区珠江街道嘉安花园), a close contact of a confirmed case on June 8.

Confirmed Case No.2: Female, 46 years old, lives in Lane 4, Xinnan Street, Beilian Village, Dashi Street, Panyu District (番禺区大石街道北联村新南大街四巷), a close contact of a confirmed case on June 7.

Confirmed Case No.3: Male, 53 years old, lives in Heyuan Xiaoqu, Baihedong Street, Liwan District (荔湾区白鹤洞街道鹤园小区), detected from key population screening.

Confirmed Case No.4: Male, 54 years old, lives in Zhonghai Xiangyuan, Shayuan Street, Haizhu District (海珠区沙园街道中海橡园), a close contact of an asymptomatic case on May 29.

All these cases have all been transferred to the Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment after getting a positive result in nucleic acid test for COVID-19.
