The mountainous climate is changeable and construction is difficult. Since the start of construction in December 2016, China National Railway Group has opened up a batch of long tunnels such as the Jishou Tunnel, a 12-kilometer long single-hole double-track tunnel, and erected bridges such as the Youshui Bridge to ensure the completion of the project on schedule. There are 162 newly built bridges and 118 tunnels across the line, with a total length of 223.9 kilometers, accounting for 90.7% of the total length of the line.
