Guangdong-Hong Kong cross-boundary private cars issued with relevant permits will be allowed to use the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) to travel between Hong Kong Port and Zhuhai Port on a trail basis, said the Transport Department of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) January 8th.

To ensure smooth traffic at Hong Kong Port of HZMB and in the vicinity of Hong Kong International Airport and surrounding area, the Transport Department implemented temporary special traffic arrangements during the initial commissioning of the HZMB, only allowing Guangdong-Hong Kong private cars under respective quotas and permits to drive across the HZMB to Zhuhai.

Considering the smooth traffic flow in recent days, the department would, in accordance with the arrangement agreed by the Guangdong and Hong Kong SAR governments, allow dual-plate private cars under the quotas of other crossings to use the HZMB. The trial would be implemented for two years.

Use WeChat to go from Gongbei to Hong Kong stops

 

A "one-ticket pass" will now take you from the MRT Station Bus 9 stop in Gongbei, across the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), to any of nine destinations in Hong Kong. The entire fare is only 120 yuan ($17.50) per person.

 

The intermodal transport ticket is purchased on the WeChat Port Bus account. After providing information, the account will transmit two QR codes to the passenger's mobile phone. The first code is for getting on Bus 9 to the bridge; the second for a Hong Kong bus.

 

There is a transfer to through buses in the middle of the journey, but a combination ticket (yi piao tong一票通) covers the fares.

Affirm first part of journey already entered.

Click to choose passenger (your information should be added when first used), and type in mobile phone number.

Add further information including name, passport or ID number, or other numbers, and then choose one passenger for the trip.

Confirm route details, passenger information, and contact and then make payment.
