Hosted by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China, GZDOC is organized by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and the Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of Guangdong, and undertaken by Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Film, Press and Publication.

After 15 years’ development, GZDOC has grown into the only national documentary festival incorporating investment, financing and trade. It has helped numerous Chinese documentaries to go global and led to a lot of partnerships being forged at home and abroad.

This year, a total of 4,239 documentaries from 113 countries and regions have been entered into the GZDOC 2017, a record high both in terms of the number of documentary entries and participating countries and regions. And 39 of the documentaries have been selected for the final of Golden Kapok Award Competition.
