Thunder, gale, hail...Guangdong to see first convective weather of the year

Severe convective weather is forecast to occur in Guangdong, bringing thunderstorms, gales and hail from the evening of March 22 to 24, according to Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.

During the latter half of the week, heavy rain with localized rainstorms is predicted for Northern Guangdong, the Pearl River Delta, Yunfu and Maoming while the rest areas will see cloudy skies with thundershowers and localized heavy rain.

From March 20 to 21, most parts of the province will be cloudy. The lows will be 14℃ to 18℃ in Shaoguan, Qingyuan and Zhaoqing, 19℃ to 22℃ in the rest areas.

On March 22, Shaoguan and Qingyuan will experience cloudy skies with thundershowers and localized heavy rain. The rest areas will be cloudy to overcast with localized showers. The lows will be 15℃ to 19℃ in Shaoguan, Qingyuan and Zhaoqing, 20℃ to 24℃ inother regions.

Residents are advised to stay away from outdoor billboards and outdoor construction sites during the severe weather. Also, dress according to temperatures to prevent yourselves from catching respiratory infections.
