Lotus enters peak blooming period in Huizhou

Summer is the season when lotuses bloom, and as temperatures continue to rise, lotuses across Huizhou are bursting into full bloom now.

At Fengzhu Garden, a scenic spot within Huizhou’s West Lake, thousands of square meters of lotus leaves stretch across the ponds. Delicate pink and white blooms sway gently in the breeze, while flocks of tufted ducks glide calmly through the water. As visitors stroll along the winding paths, the subtle fragrance of lotus follows them with each step.

The garden features multiple lotus varieties, each blooming on a slightly different timeline. This means the viewing season extends all the way into September. In addition to the stunning natural scenery, Fengzhu Garden offers a wide range of cultural and recreational activities, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Next to the Huicheng District People’s Government, the lotus pond has become a beautiful landscape in the city. Although the lotus pond is not large, it is densely covered with lotus leaves and beautiful flowers. Every time the lotus pond blooms, it is the first choice for nearby residents to take a walk and relax after dinner.

Further out in the countryside, in Sanjia Village of Shiba Town, Boluo County, visitors are greeted by an expansive lotus field that spans over 100 acres. The lotus flowers here are now in full bloom. Guests can hop on a small sightseeing train that weaves through the lotus fields, taking in the floral scents and cool breeze of the open farmland.

In the coming days, Sanjia Village will also host its annual Lotus Festival. Visitors will be able to camp, enjoy open-air barbecues, and take part in immersive countryside experiences.
