Construction is nearing completion on Baiyue Avenue, the key access road to Maoming South Station on the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway. The 3.836-kilometer thoroughfare is on schedule to open by the end of June, according to recent progress reports.
Baiyue Avenue runs east to west.
Located in Poxin Town, Dianbai District, Maoming City, Baiyue Avenue is part of the upgraded Provincial Highway S280. Designed as a six-lane, first-class highway, it features a 33.5-meter-wide roadbed and a speed limit of 60 km/h.
Earthwork excavation and filling for Baiyue Avenue's roadbed have been largely completed to date.
Since construction began on September 3, 2023, the project has utilized a phased and overlapping workflow to accelerate progress. Earthwork for the roadbed is largely complete, with major drainage, culvert, and underpass works progressing well.
