On July 7, the stormwater box culvert project for Caoyang Flood Control (from Zhongshan First Road to Dan'ao River) in Huiyang District, Huizhou City, which has undergone nearly a year of construction, achieved full connectivity and officially commenced operations.

The commissioning of this project will significantly reduce urban flooding caused by heavy rains during the flood season and improve the flooding and waterlogging conditions in the surrounding areas, thereby enhancing residents' living environment.

According to the project team, the Caoyang Flood Control (Zhongshan First Road - Dan'ao River) stormwater box culvert project began construction in July 2024. Along Zhongshan Road, it features a 2.1-kilometer-long "underground artery." The project team overcame the construction challenge of an excavation depth reaching 5.2 meters, successfully passing beneath five major and secondary urban roads, thereby installing an efficient "drainage artery" for the city.
