Pickleball was invented in the United States in 1965. This sport, which borrows elements from badminton, tennis and table tennis is fun, social and easy to play with.
You can play it indoors and outdoors, either individually or in teams of two. Pickleball utilizes side-out scoring, meaning only the serving side can score a point. Players must serve the ball over a 34-inch high (0.86 metre) net.

Its ball is the size of a tennis ball, with 26 to 40 evenly spaced circular holes hollowed out in the middle. Its paddle, much like racket ball rackets, has slippery surfaces on both sides.
Pickleball does not require unique skills. The ball can be pushed, smashed, or blocked. It perfectly fits in with your previous sports experience and skills in table tennis, badminton and tennis.
Guangdong is one of the earliest provinces in China to introduce pickleball. The first national pickleball competition was held in Guangzhou in 2023. From August 3 to 4, the HuaTi Cup China Pickleball Open will be held in Conghua District, Guangzhou.
