The third edition of the Hengqin Lotus Festival is now in full bloom, running from July 4 to 18 at the Lotus Garden of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (横琴粤澳深度合作区荷花园). The festival aims to showcase the integration of Hengqin and Macao through a mix of cultural experiences and floral beauty.
Spanning 45,000 square meters, the garden features over 80 varieties of lotus flowers. The event layout includes two major variety exhibitions, nine upgraded photo spots, and eight corporate display gardens.
Visitors can join free guided tours led by professional instructors, with sessions offered four times daily on weekends and twice daily on weekdays—ideal for families with children. A stamp-collecting game encourages guests to visit designated gardens and exchange completed stamp cards for small gifts at market stalls.
The market brings together local creations and delicacies from both Hengqin and Macao. Highlights include Macao-style egg tarts, Hengqin oysters, creative crafts, and interactive games. New this year are a car boot market, a go-kart zone, and a camping area for those seeking leisure and adventure.
In a cross-border collaboration, Macao's Taipa Houses will also host Lotus Festival-themed activities on July 12–13 and 19–20. The pop-up will feature traditional Han-style dress-up experiences, lotus-themed crafts, and games to bring a touch of Hengqin to Macao.
