Anime fever returns: Guangzhou to host spectacular summer carnival

The 3rd Grandview Planet Anime Carnival will kick off on July 5 at Grandview Mall in Guangzhou and run through August 31, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of anime celebration.

The summer-long event features over 1,000 activities, including pop-up anime IP experiences, themed exhibitions, fountain-side music shows, and trendy cultural markets—alongside exclusive discounts and consumer perks.

The mall's northwest gate

Visitors entering through the mall's northwest gate will step directly into a "2D fantasy world." Inside, the 4th-floor atrium will showcase a fantasy-themed zone with over 100 exclusive merchandise items. The adjacent markets on the 4th and 5th floors will highlight Chinese-style craftsmanship, cultural experiences, local delicacies, and immersive fan activities.

Cosplayers and anime lovers

Cosplayers and anime lovers can enjoy meet-ups and photo ops in a space that brings together popular fandoms. A highlight of the festival is the underwater Chinese-style performance, "Origin of Blue and White," blending tradition with modern spectacle.

Genshin Impact hosts a character birthday party at the mall.

Over 100 beloved IPs from China and abroad—like Pokémon, Arknights, Light and Night, Diablo Immortal, and Genshin Impact—will be featured through themed pop-ups, exhibitions, immersive birthday parties, and fan meet-and-greets across the mall.

To top it off, special ticket packages and discounts will cater to different visitor needs, turning the carnival into a must-visit summer destination for anime fans and families alike.
