In recent years, Guangdong Province in south China has taken various measures to develop robot industry. The application and promotion of embodied artificial intelligence robots has been gaining speed in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and a provincial embodied artificial intelligence robot innovation center was established in Shenzhen. In addition, cities like Foshan, Dongguan and Zhuhai are encouraged to give full play to their manufacturing advantages to build robot production bases.
Guangdong's industrial robot output exceeded 240,000 units in 2024 with a year-on-year increase of 31.2 percent, ranking first in the country for five consecutive years, according to the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province.
