According to Jiao Lansheng, Zhongshan will focus on the development of advanced equipment manufacturing, information technology and biomedicine.
A national report show that Zhongshan’s innovative capacity was ranked 18th in China in 2017. Thus far, 1715 high-tech enterprises, 387 provincial R&D centers and 59 incubators for tech startups have been settled in the city.
Zhongshan has 370 thousand active market entities, and its per capita GDP exceeds 100 thousand yuan. The city has been facilitating its government services to bring enterprises more convenience.
Zhongshan is a green city with a 35.5 percent green coverage. Its air quality is ranked among the top ten in China. A large number of forest parks and wetlands parks can also be found in the city. Jiao Lansheng said, Zhongshan plans to invest 40 billion yuan in water protection of 15 areas in the city.
