Themed “New Age, New Journey, New Vision”, Guangdong’s 4K TV pilot program launching ceremony was held at Guangdong Television Center on December 23rd.
And the Guangdong 4K Television Program Production Center and Guangdong 4K Movie Program Production Center were established on the same occasion.
Ma Xingrui, governor of Guangdong, attended the ceremony and inaugurated the centers.

Implementation of the 4K movie & television network application and industrial development strategy is an important measure for Guangdong to carry out the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, further the supply-side reform of radio and TV media, seize the development opportunity in advance and promote high-quality economic development.
Addressing the ceremony, Shen Haixiong, a standing committee member of the CPC Guangdong provincial committee and head of Guangdong's publicity department, said that the launch of 4K TV pilot programs by Guangdong Radio and Television, the establishment of China’s 4K industrial alliance, and the plan to produce China’s first 4K Cantonese Opera movie are among the innovative measures of Guangdong to promote digital China.
Shen also encouraged the province to introduce and create more excellent programs and make efforts to set the industrial standard for 4K TV for the country.
A series of agreements including those on cooperation on broadcasting and supporting platforms, industrial alliance, technologies research and development were signed during the event.
Also, the 4K iCloud platform of South New Media and the 4K broadcasting system, industrial chain and application of Guangdong Radio & Television were displayed.
