The 58-year-old Macao resident, surnamed Ng, was alleged to have great suspicion for a murder case that happened in Rua de Horta e Costa, Macao on September 19, 2016.
Macao police sent assistance request to the Ministry of Public Security, regarding that Ng had the possibility to abscond to Chinese mainland. After receiving the request, the Ministry of Public Security organized Guangdong police rapidly and launched an investigation.
On February 27, Guangdong police arrested the suspect in Zhongshan, Guangdong. Ng confessed everything at the trial.
It is said that mainland police and Macao police have made great achievements on fighting against cross-border crimes with mutual independence, support and respect in recent years. Furthermore, a mechanism between two authorities for launching regular meetings, information exchange and personnel training has been built since Macao’s return in 1999.
