Lai Heen at the Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou receives its first Michelin star in Guangzhou Michelin Guide 2018

Lai Heen, the signature Cantonese restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou has earned its first Michelin star in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Guangzhou 2018. It is the one of the eight restaurants in Guangzhou receives this award. Lai Heen also becomes the ninth restaurant to receive a Michelin star among The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Asia Pacific. And Italian restaurant LIMONI, also at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, has been honored with the Michelin Plate in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Guangzhou 2018.

Lai Heen is helmed by Chef Gordon, who has over two decades of culinary experience. The well-traveled Chef Gordon is famed for his creative cuisine art and passion for exploring nature to find fresh ingredients of the highest quality. Lai Heen’s fundamental value lies in the freshness of seasonal ingredients and showcasing exquisite Cantonese delicacies through careful balancing of colors, aromas, textures and tastes of each dish. The menu at Lai Heen presents constantly evolving classic and contemporary favorites such as Poached sunflower chicken, Braised shrimps with okra in homemade sauce, Steamed crab custard, crab meat, caviar with Chinese rice wine, and Poached rice, lobster broth, seafood.

Guests at Lai Heen are enveloped in a sophisticated and elegant jasmine-scented environment from the moment they step in. Burgundy and silver decorative accents evoke the ambience of luxurious Canton, while silver-tipped ebene wood chopsticks and white bone china dancing with hints of silver add opulent touches to the table. The eight semi-private dining rooms and six exquisite private dining rooms can seat up to 120, enabling guests to entertain business partners, friends or family members in The Ritz-Carlton tradition of luxury.


LIMONI has earned its Michelin Plate for its inspired takes on classic Italian cuisine. Signature dishes include Foie gras and scampi with black truffle and pumpkin, Smoked and citrus oil mi cuit trout, watercress, asparagus and potato mousseline, Mushroom and black truffle pappardelle, and Florentine-style T-bone steak. Chef Andrea Zamboni’s modern approach to Italian cuisine is balanced with the memories and traditions of his native homeland, and he is constantly on the lookout to re-create dishes based on his daily interactions and travels. Complementing the menu is an exceptional, award-winning wine list that is not to be missed.

Other restaurants at The Ritz-Carlton hotels across the Asia-Pacific region also received Michelin stars, including Tin Lung Heen, which was awarded two Michelin stars and where diners feast on spectacular views over traditional Cantonese dim sum on the 102nd floor of the International Commerce Centre at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. Tosca at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong; Summer Pavilion at The Ritz-Carlton, Millennia Singapore; Lai Heen at The Ritz-Carlton, Macau; Jin Xuan at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong; Azure 45 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo; La Baie at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka; and Tempura Mizuki at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto were all honored with one Michelin star each.
