The provincial event to celebrate the National Ecological Day was organized in Zhuhai, Guangdong recently. Themed on accelerating the green-oriented transition of socioeconomic development, the activity showed Guangdong's remarkable progress in ecological conservation and branded the first batch of 48 carbon peak and carbon neutrality pilot projects. Shekou Building and Honghualing Base in Shenzhen's Nanshan were awarded the honor.
Shekou Building (蛇口大厦)
Shekou Building, as a pilot place of projects, is the first high-rise office building that has realized near-zero energy consumption and carbon emission. Following its transformation, the building is anticipated to produce a minimum of 314,800 kWh of annual photovoltaic power. This remarkable feat will result in an annual reduction of 142 tons of carbon emissions, a comprehensive energy-saving rate of 75.08%, and an expected 50% reduction in electricity purchase costs.
Honghualing Base (红花岭基地)
The currently under-construction Honghualing Base is located in the Xili Lake International Science and Education City area. It is a key demonstration project that gathers companies with higher performance, comprising five 16-story factory buildings.
Once completed, the Base will become a hub for high-end manufacturing enterprises in biomedicine, intelligent manufacturing, industrial internet, and big data.
