Yuexiu district, Guangzhou set up the cultural exchange center in Ersha Island to promote cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign residents, and to help foreign residents understand Chinese culture.

The cultural exchange center will offer courses in calligraphy and Chinese painting for Chinese and foreign residents, and carry out regular activities such as a Guqin Cultural Salon and Chinese Studies Reading Club, to further enrich residents' cultural life and aid in the creation of the pluralistic communities.

An intangible cultural heritage exhibition and masterpiece exhibition were also held at the unveiling ceremony.
