Man kills rival for seducing his wife

Irritated by the provocation of a third party in his marriage, a man killed his rival with several blows to the head with a steel bar, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.

The man, identified as Ah Kai, worked at a construction site in Shenzhen, and his wife, Ah Ying, worked in a factory. The couple lived a simple life and worked hard to save money to send back to their children, who were attending school in their hometown.

However, the seemingly stable family relationship gradually changed due to the intervention of another man. The man called Ah Huo worked in the same factory as Ah Ying. He was a few years her junior and was also married with two children.

After Ah Huo was acquainted with Ah Ying, he made a passionate move on her, even though he knew that each of them had a family. Unfortunately, Ah Ying could not resist the intense courtship and had an affair with Ah Huo.

Ah Huo didn’t keep a low profile when he realized that Ah Ying’s husband had discovered their affair. Instead, he even called Ah Kai and sent him a text message saying that his wife was in an extramarital relationship with him.

Ah Kai knew that Ah Ying had cheated on him, but he suppressed his anger and asked Ah Ying to break up with Ah Huo. Ah Ying agreed, but Ah Huo was still unwilling to end the relationship.

At her husband’s request, Ah Ying moved into another apartment. Nevertheless, Ah Huo would follow Ah Ying after work in order to find out where she lived. This infuriated Ah Kai, so he made a plan for revenge.

On June 23, Ah Kai was worried that Ah Huo would wait for Ah Ying again near her apartment. He went to Ah Ying’s place at about 5 a.m. and found that Ah Huo was sitting on a chair near the entrance on the first floor.

Ah Kai took a steel bar out of a tool box and ran to Ah Huo, battering him about the head. Ah Huo, who was taking a nap, was killed by the heavy blows. A janitor saw the incident and called the police.

Several hours later, Ah Kai was arrested on a long-distance bus on an expressway. The court convicted Ah Kai of murder. He was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve.
