On September 27th, Guangdong Government held a reception in Guangzhou to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
Ouyang Weimin, Vice Governor of Guangdong, delivered a toast and gave guests from home and abroad a warm welcome.
In his welcoming speech, he highlighted that China has witnessed splendid achievements in the past 69 years. Since the founding of PRC, under the strong leadership of Communist Party of China, the country has made historic strides in economic strength, composite national strength and people’s livelihood.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, Guangdong will earnestly act on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, deepen reform, further open up to the world and play an active role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
The province will also develop the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a demonstration area for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation, and strive to be a forerunner in China in promoting high quality growth, building modernized economy, making new grounds in opening up on all fronts, and establishing a social governance model based on collaboration, participation and common interests.
Guangdong will work to be an important window for demonstrating China’s achievements in reform and opening-up, and a window for international society to witness China’s achievements in reform and opening-up.
According to Ouyang, the province invites friends from the globe to come and visit Guangdong, join in the efforts in reform, opening-up and modernization and further mutually beneficial cooperation.
Luo Juan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, Liu Xin, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and representatives of democratic parties and government units were present at the celebration.
About 400 guests were invited to the reception including foreign consular officers in Guangzhou, representatives of foreign establishments, foreign experts, representatives of foreign corporations, financial institutions, media, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in Guangdong and representatives of overseas Chinese.
