48 Terms to promote Guangdong - Taiwan Cooperation

 

Recently Guangdong’s provincial government held a press conference, announcing the “Measures to Promote Guangdong -Taiwan Economic and Cultural Exchange”. Issued by the Taiwan affairs office and the development and reform committee in Guangdong, it contains 48 favorable policies.

According to Chen Linzuo, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, the 48 terms of policies mainly cover two areas:

1. Actively promoting investment and economic cooperation between Guangdong and Taiwan.

2. Making it easy for Taiwanese compatriots to live, study and work in Guangdong.

The policies specially regulate 135 items for Taiwan compatriots can now apply for individual industrial and commercial units in Guangdong, as applicable to residents of Hong Kong and Macao.

Moreover, Taiwanese students studying in Guangdongwill enjoy the same rights as locals in accordance with relevant regulations. Meanwhile, employment information is to be provided online for Taiwan compatriots applying for jobs in Guangdong.

The 48 terms also include enhancing other fields of cooperation such as project support, market access, technological research and development, infrastructure procurement, land safeguarding, market expansion, agriculture and finance, talent funds and awards, cultural and academic non-governmental exchange, cooperation in film and television.
