Thunderstorm to hit Guangdong with hot weather

On May 31st, people use different measures to survive the heatwave on the street.

Heavy rain will sweep most parts of Guangdong from June 1st to June 3rd, according to the Guangdong Meteorological Service. Guangzhou will see a high temperature of 31 to 34℃ with rainfall in the next three days.

Although the local meteorological authority forecasts the province will see scattered thunderstorm this weekend, the temperature is still scorching.

On May 31st, 53 cities and counties witnessed a temperature of over 35℃, with yellow or orange alerts in Guangdong.

China has a three-tier early warning system for high temperatures: a yellow warning is issued when high temperatures above 35℃ are predicted for three consecutive days, orange indicates a predicted high temperature of 37℃ in the next 24 hours, and a red alert is issued when the temperature is forecast to reach 40℃ within 24 hours.

Also, during the upcoming thunderstorm, some cities and counties will meet short-term heavy rainfall, hail and gale.

June 1-2

June 3-4

Showers, heavy rain to thunderstorm (north and west Guangdong, Pearl River Delta);

Highest temperature: 33℃-37℃.
